The Differences of Left Handed Guitar Lessons
by Tyler Smith
In eight years of playing guitar, I have seen right handed players switch to left handed instruments! They buy new instruments to acquire the roles that their hands have switched. If you haven't started playing yet, you should know that your hands don't know the difference between strumming with or right hand or using your right hand for finger placement. Also, starting with a right handed guitar and later switching to a left handed one is possible because you will learn quicker once you have switched to playing left handed guitar.
There are guitar teachers that specialize in teaching left handed guitarists. They construct targeted lessons that help you develop the playing skills you need to become an effective musician. Most of the left handed teachers can be found on the internet on sites like YouTube, and a quick Google search can yield good results for the lessons you desire. I have found a lot of the best teachers in the world on the internet.
For left handed musicians out there, you need to make sure you have effective practice time by using tools found from the internet. For example, since playing in tempo is so important, you're going to need a metronome, and those can be found on the internet. Also, to prepare you for jamming with other musicians, you need to develop improvisation skills using backup instrumentals (there are tools for that, too!). Stay in tune with tuners that are found on the internet (no need to go out and by an expensive one)! All of these tools will help you become a proper guitar player.
Many times, left handed players give up because they develop bad playing habits. When they hit their first standstill, they quit. Don't let this happen to you. Practice songs slowly with the intention of nailing every note and chord. Also, pay attention to what your guitar teachers tell you, and exercise proper technique. Lessons are essential if you plan to make guitar a part of your life, and I am sure you won't stop once you get the hang of it!
My name is H. Tyler Smith, and I am a guitarist of eight years. Through this period, I have been through music classes and learned much about music theory. If you are a beginning guitarist and musician, there are many things available to you through the internet. Going to the music store is a waste of money.
