Be a Real Guitar Hero with the Right Guitar Tuition

by Andrew Lee
Most if not all of us have probably played guitar hero at some point in our life and if not then I’m guessing you will have at least heard of it! It is a series of music video games that were first published in 2005 by Red Octane and distributed by Activision. The game involves players using a guitar-shaped controller; it is this controller which simulate the playing of lead, bass guitar and rhythm guitar across numerous rock songs. The aim of this game is to imitate the features associated with playing a real guitar, which includes the use of fast-fingering hammer-on and pull-offs and the use of the whammy bar to alter the pitch of notes but despite what a lot of people think, playing guitar hero is worlds away from what playing guitar is actually like.

On the game guitar hero players need to match notes that scroll on-screen, the way they do this is by matching the coloured fret buttons on your controllers with the colours that appear on the screen. You then need to strum the controller in time to the music in order to score points. The one thing that this does do for apprising guitar players is teach you about timing and strumming. It allows you to learn how to strum in time to the notes that are being played and helps you learn rhythm when it comes to strumming. It is also common that people who can play the guitar often find guitar hero a lot easier to master than those who don’t.

The songs that appear on guitar hero feature a selection of songs that range from the 1960’s through to present day. These songs come from both highly successful artists and bands and independent groups. So at least the one thing you can guarantee from the game is it could introduce you to some bands that you have never heard of before. However if you are playing the game in hope of picking up guitar skills then all I can say is put the controller down and pick up a real guitar!

There is a lot of help available to you when it comes to learning how to play guitar so you should be taking advantage of this. One road that you could go down when it comes to guitar tuition is making use of the Internet. One of the best ways that you can make use of the Internet is through watching tuition videos of the songs that you are learning. These videos are broken down in the different stages of the songs so that you can learn each section before playing it through completely.

It is through tuition such as the above where you will correctly learn how to play guitar and the above method is also classed as one of the most effective. You won’t learn guitar from playing guitar hero, you will only learn it with the correct help and the right tuition so make sure you get yours now and enjoy guitar hero for what it is; a game!
